Kaduna. Sept 28.2017 (NAN) The Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Board completed the transportation of 6,713 pilgrims that performed the 2017 Hajj in Saudi Arabia, as the last batch returned to Nigeria early on Thursday.
The Public Relations Officer of the Board (PRO), Malam Yunusa Abdullahi, said in a statement issued in Kaduna that the last batch of 212 pilgrims arrived Kaduna International Airport at 7:05a.m., on board Med-View Airline.
Abdullahi said the Director-General, Bureau of Interfaith, Mr Namadi Musa, the board’s Overseer, Imam Tsoho Ikara and other government officials were in the last batch.
He said that Med-View and Max Air Airlines carried out the transportation for 2017, adding that Max air transported 2,173 pilgrims while Med-View had 4,542 pilgrims in the return journey.
The PRO said four pilgrims from the state died in Makkah during the exercise but he did not disclose their names and their local government areas.
The statement said Ikara thanked the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Balarabe Abbas Lawal, who led the government’s delegation, other stakeholders and staff members of the board for their contributions toward the success of 2017 Hajj.(NAN)
