Lagos Aug. 11, 2017 (NAN) Merrybet Online Sports Betting Company is sponsoring this year’s Lagos Chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Games, tagged “SWAN Week’’ which begins on Friday with N3.5 million.
The N3.5 million is earmarked by the company for the one week sports competition which has harmonised the various sports desks of media organisations in Lagos.
The association’s Chairman, Fred Edoreh, had commended Merrybet at its unveiling on Thursday for backing the event and added that the partnership would help to promote the ideals of both parties.
“Sincerely, I am delighted about the response from our sponsor even though the deal is coming at late hour.
“We look forward to many years of fruitful partnership as we showcase the value, we have for ourselves as sports family fostering progressive relationship across the various media organisations,’’ Edoreh said.
Stephen Echefu, the company’s Digital Marketing Analyst, said the company was also delighted to have struck the deal, adding that it was good to be associated with the SWAN Week.
“I am looking forward to a successful event and hoping that the handling of the event will be worth the effort at the end,’’ he said.
The sports week will see participants competing in various games including football, table tennis, handball and field events. (NAN)
