Ilorin, June 8, 2017 (NAN) The Kwara International City and Guilds Centre, known as International Vocational Technical and Entrepreneurship Centre (IVTEC), Ajase Ipo, will begin its academic session in September.
The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development in Kwara, Mr Musa Yeketi announced this to newsmen on Thursday in Ilorin.
Yeketi said all necessary facilities that would enhance smooth running of IVTEC had been provided by Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara.
He said the academic session would be preceded by admission of students for five major courses namely, automobile mechanic, building and carpentry, electrical, air conditioning, and welding.
”Members of Kwara State House of Assembly have expressed satisfaction at the facilities on ground and they demanded to know when the school will take off.
”The skills acquisition school has already taken off but students will start resuming by September.
”The management is on ground including the Rector and heads of various departments and they are mapping out strategies to resume as scheduled,” Yeketi said.
The commissioner, however, said there was no limited number for students to be admitted as admission was still opened to people from all over the world. (NAN)
