Ilorin, Dec. 13, 2016 (NAN) The Kwara Government has assured communities of more development projects in 2017.

The state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Alhaji Mahmud Ajeigbe, said on Tuesday that the state government would execute development projects in rural areas next year.

Ajeigbe gave the assurance when he received officials of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Offa Local Government Area of the state.

The commissioner warned against divisive tendencies that could affect the success of the party in the state.

He advised party members to hold APC strong in their mind, saying the party belonged to the people at the local unit.

He also cautioned against allowing selfish interest to override the general interest in the party affair.

According to him, Offa is going to witness unprecedented development in 2017 as various projects had been designed for the area.

“Offa is going to enjoy more appointments as boards for statutory commissions will be named soon.

“There is going to be construction of more strategic roads, renovation and remodelling of schools in the council area,” he said.

Ajeigbe added that government would provide boreholes for the community in line with the electioneering promises.

The commissioner also explained that the community would be covered under the second phase of Light-Up-Kwara project.

He therefore solicited for the support of the officials to strengthen the APC structure in the state.

Alhaji Abdulazeez Aro, the APC Chairman for Offa local government, said the visit was to engage the commissioner on his stewardship and as a member of the state Executive Council representing the area.

Aro explained that the visit would also foster unity among APC members with their representatives in government.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the officials stressed the need for more development projects in Offa now that the community had joined the ruling party in the state and at the federal level. (NAN)
