Dialogue

Jos, July 3, 2018 (NAN) The National Council of Women’s Societies (NCWS) Plateau state chapter, has called on communities in the state to employ the use of dialogue, as a means of settling disputes.
The state chapter in a statement signed by its president, Mrs Felicia Bala, said that taking up arms would only escalate the issues on ground.
According to NCWS, women are particularly saddened by the killings, as they bear the brunt of the brutal attacks.
“We call on all to embrace dialogue as a means of settling disputes and not taking up arms, which only leads more problems rather than solving the one on ground.
“We as women are particularly saddened by this development as women bear the brunt of such brutal attacks, as our husbands and children are killed leaving many as widows and some without children,” the statement said.
The women in the statement while commiserating with victims of the attack also called on government and all security agencies to do everything possible to protect the lives of the innocent and defenceless.
The statement reads in part, “It is really sad that human beings are being killed on a daily basis.
“The NCWS calls on the Federal Government to do all within its powers to fish out the perpetrators of these acts and bring them to book to serve as a deterrent to others,’’ it said. (NAN)
