Kano Feb., 11 2017 (NAN) Kano state Censorship Board has deployed Liaison Officers to the 44 local government areas of the state to ensure a thorough discharge of its duties across the state.
The Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Isma’il Na’abba, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Kano.
He said that monitoring the entertainment industry in the state was a big task that needed helping hands.
“We need Liaison Officers that will get to the nooks and crannies of all local government areasin order to feed the board with effective information on activities of entertainers and viewing centres,” he said.
Furthermore, Na’abba disclosed that the liason officers would also serve as watch-dogs for piracy of literary works at the grassroots level.
According to him , each of the officers have been given a motorcycle to ease his work, adding that the state government will not shake in its responsibility of ensuring the regulation of the entertainment industry in the state
The Executive Secretary further revealed that apart from regulating the industry at the grassroots, presence of the officers would serve an avenue for enhanced revenue generation.
He then urged the officers to discharge their duties honestly,warning that any act of corruption would be viewed seriously. (NAN)
