Kano 2017 budget to address key issues in education

Kano, Jan. 27, 2017 (NAN) The Kano State Government says its 2017 budget will address key issues on education to ensure sustainable development in the sector.

This is contained in a statement issued on Friday in Kano by Alhaji Balarabe Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer in the Deputy Governor’s office.

The statement quoted the Deputy Governor Prof. Hafiz Abubakar, as saying the state is particularly concerned about girl-child education and encouraging female enrolment in primary and secondary schools.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the girl-child education is under the state’s Summer Camp Programme while IQTE model is directed to increase female enrolment in primary and secondary schools in the State.

Abubakar said that the administration of Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje was equally doing its possible best to promote the welfare of teachers in the State.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Education was currently working on the report submitted by the Primary School Teachers’ Promotion Committee.
According to him, the report would soon be submitted to the state Executive Council for further action.

The Deputy Governor urged all the stakeholders to come together and initiate sustainable strategies for the benefit of the state. (NAN)
