Kaduna, March 1, 2017 (NAN) A female pilgrim who returned $750 she found in Madina during the 2016 Hajj, has received N100,000 reward from a Katsina-based philanthropist.

The pilgrim, Amina Abdullahi-Gele, who hailed from Igabi Local Government, Kaduna State, found an envelope containing the money in a hotel’s bathroom.

The owner was subsequently found to be an elderly woman named Hauwa Musa, also from Igabi LGA.

The Oversser of the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Imam Hussaini Tsoho, who presented the money on behalf of the philantrophist, commended her for the wonderful gesture.

“Only those with good heart and fear of Allah will return such a huge amount of money to the rightful owner.

“What you displayed during the 2016 hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia, only Allah can reward you because it is not easy and people like you are few in the society,” he said.

Tsoho said it was a well known fact in Islam that, who ever found a lost item inside the two holy mosques in Makkah and Madina, must return it or else their Hajj is nullified.

“So, we in Kaduna Pilgrims Board are proud of you for returning the money to the owner.

“I urge intending pilgrims from the State for the 2017 Hajj to emulate your behaviour, so that we will continue to be our brothers’ keepers.

“Please keep up the good work and May Allah reward you abundantly,” Tsoho added.

He also commended the philanthropist, Ibrahim Sambo-Magnet for the gesture.

In her response, Abdullahi-Gele appreciated the reward and advised intending pilgrims to attend the ongoing enlightenment programmes in their respective areas.

She also called on the intending pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the state and be their brothers keepers’at all times.(NAN)
