Dutse, Jan. 19, 2019 (NAN) The Jigawa Government on Thursday said it had awarded about N1.8 billion for six feeder road projects to benefit various communities across the state.
The state Commissioner for Works and Transport, Mr Aminu Yakubu, disclosed this at a news conference in Dutse.
Yakubu explained that 29-kilometre Shwarin-Chamo feeder road had been awarded at N379 million, while N410 million would be spent on Garki-Kore road.
He said the state government would construct the 44-kilometre Jigawa-Dan Ali road at N639 million.
According to him, Kudai-Sakwaya road project will cost N170 million,
while the Danturu-Hanujiwa road will gulp N188 million.
He added that the 4.5-kilometre Manga Takwas road was awarded at N64 million, noting that all the projects were awarded in December 2016, expected to be completed within nine months.
The commissioner said that the projects, when completed, would boost socio-economic activities in the benefiting communities. (NAN)
