Ibadan, Sept. 26, 2017 (NAN) Mr Abdullahi Kure, the new Director, Directorate of State Services (DSS) in Oyo state, on Tuesday pledged to build on the existing peaceful structure in the state.
Kure made the pledge in Ibadan when he paid courtesy call on Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Kure transferred from Gombe State replaced Mr Andrew Yakubu, who has been transferred to the headquarters as the Director of Training and Staff Services.
Kure said, “I pledge my readiness to build on the existing peaceful structure in the state.
“I commend you for the support given to security agencies in the state which has brought peace and tranquillity.”
He commended the governor for the relative peace being enjoyed in the state, saying that such would be sustained and improved upon.
Kure described the state as
more peaceful compared to Gombe, his previous place of assignment.
Also, Yakubu, the outgoing director, commended Ajimobi for the support and provision of logistics to the security agencies which had enhanced the performance of their jobs.
Ajimobi, in his response, said that the recent happenings in the state had clearly shown a possible resurrection of political violence, which he said would not be tolerated by his administration.
He said that the primary responsibility of any serious government was the
maintenance of peace and security of the state which his administration had been doing in the last six years.
The governor commended the outgoing Director, Yakubu, for his efficiency at maintaining peace in the state.
Ajimobi told his successor to build on the existing peaceful structure in the state. (NAN)
