IBB varsity lauds TETFund on training programmes for academics ‎

‎‎Minna, July 22, 2017 (NAN) The authorities of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU) Lapai, have lauded  the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for the training of 60 academic staff of the institution.

‎Prof. Muhammad Maiturare, the Vice-Chancellor, IBBU, made this remark in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lapai on Saturday.

‎ “I want to commend TETFund, and urge them to sustain this tempo and even do more.

“Through TETFund, many of our academic staff have been sponsored on local and international training courses.

“Many of the staff have been sponsored on higher degree programmes locally and internationally,’’ Maiturare said.

The Vice-Chancellor said the Fund’s package was impacting meaningfully on the nation’s academic development and the IBBU staff in particular.

“Our lecturers are now measuring up and competing favourably with their counterparts globally at international conferences and workshops’’.

He said that such a feat had made Nigeria to be reckoned with in the global intellectual arena‎.

Maiturare said that IBBU had‎ requested for more assistance of TETFUND grants, to enable more staff to go for further studies in the current academic session. (NAN)
