Ilorin, Feb. 15, 2017 (NAN) The Coach of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC. Ilorin, Henry Makinwa, says he is  satisfied with the performance of the team  so far this season, but want more from them.

Makinwa told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Wednesday in Ilorin that the league was not won after 8 games, hence the need for his wards to maintain the present momentum.

NAN recalls that the Saraki Boys are currently second on the log of 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), with 14 points having won four games, drew two and lost two.

“We need to build momentum and tenacity to finish the way we have started.

“We still have 30 more matches to play and we have to be strong all season long to finish well.

“We have lots of talented young players here who are willing to learn new things everyday.

“We are not carried away by our standing on the log at all”, he said.

According to Makinwa, the league has developed very well and you need to be at your best every time to compete at the level we want to be.

“We want to see every game like a final that we must give our all at all times” the coach said.

The UEFA Pro coaching certificate holder and former Real Sociedad of Spain attacker, said they must turn their away draw to winning.

He, however, said  he was aware it’s not easy winning away from home.

“Things are changing from what we used to have, I have seen great referee performances this season.

“This has given me confidence that we can win away from home, but we must tidy our programmes well.

“The League Management Company (LMC) is doing a great job to turn things around for better.

“Akure fans clapped and showed appreciation to our style of play after drawing their team 2-2 on Sunday.

“This is good because this is what should be the case, not attacking the away team for beating them” Makinwa said.

NAN reports that the Saraki Boys will be missing in action this weekend as their opponent, Rivers United, will be involved in a continental engagement.

The players of the Ilorin based team are on break and will return to training on Thursday.(NAN)
