Departure

Abuja, Jan. 9, 2018 (NAN) The Nigerian senior male handball team on Tuesday departed Lagos for Togo ahead of the African Nations Cup in Libreville, Gabon.
The Secretary-General of Nigeria Handball Federation, Mohammed Maigidansanma, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the team’s early departure was for a friendly match in Togo.
He said the team would, after this, also proceed to Benin Republic for another friendly match.
NAN reports that the African Nations Cup is scheduled to hold between Jan. 17 and Jan. 28 in Libreville.
Maigidansanma said 16 players had been selected to fly Nigeria’s flag at the competition in Gabon.
He said the players included three players based in Qatar, Morocco and Israel, namely Adamolegbe Oladunjo, Ani Obinna and Kalu Philip respectively.
The secretary-general listed the rest as Joseph Udale, Adamu Aminu, Ogedegbe Chris, Amadi Emmanuel, Samuel Samora, Aliyu Aminu, Mudashiru Absulmajid, Sallau Saka, Solomon Michael, Akande Tope, Emeana Emmanuel, Iortyer Stephen and Osas Michael.
H said the team’s technical crew would be led by Michael Taanghar, with Solomon Yola assisting and Segun Tunji as goalkeeper trainer.(NAN)
