Abuja, Feb. 9, 2017 (NAN) The Buhari Media Support Group (BMSG) has charged Nigerians to support the Federal Government’s call for religious harmony and national unity to ensure growth and development of the country.

The group gave the charge in a statement signed by its Coordinator, Malam Muhammad Labbo and Secretary, Mr Cassidy Madueke, on Thursday in Abuja.

“When there is no religious tolerance and national unity, peace becomes elusive and there will hardly be room for implementation of government programs and projects that will promote welfare of citizens.

“Such situation will also make it difficult for both local and foreign investors to be attracted to the country,’’ it said.

The group described the call which was recently made by the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo in Benin, Edo, as “words of a true leader’’.

It also said that the acting president’s famous quote of “hate is the enemy of faith and our nation” was very timely.

It observed that unpatriotic statements made when the nation’s polity was heated up, were uncalled for and said that Nigeria needed supportive comments, not divisive ones.

It, therefore, called on leaders to toe the line of the call for religious harmony and national unity and advised Nigerians to ensure that the call was observed in practice.

According to it, the call for harmony and unity is a sure way for a lasting and enduring peace which will ultimately lead to economic prosperity for the country. (NAN)
