Katsina, May 11, 2018 (NAN) The  Buhari Support Organisation (BSO), Katsina State chapter on Friday urged the National Assembly to hasten passage of the 2018 budget to improve the living condition of Nigerians.

Dr Abba Abdullahi, chairman of the organisation, who made the call at a news conference in Katsina, also said that speedy passage of the budget would enhance economic activities in the country.

“We are calling on the National Assembly to hasten passage of the budget for the betterment of Nigerians.

“The delay in the passage of the budget does not in any way affect President Buhari in person, in reality, it affects Nigerians.

“This is because all government policies aimed at enhancing their living conditions and developing the country will not be implemented until they passed it into law in accordance with the provisions of the constitution.

Abdullahi urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the assembly to resist further delay in the passage of the budget.

“Let the lawmakers note that if they allow such delay to continue, it is like they are killing themselves and their party.

“The lawmakers should consider the interest of Nigeria above any other interest and be patriotic enough to support President Muhammadu Buhari in his efforts to move the country forward and improve the living condition of Nigerians,’’ he said.

He also urged the lawmakers and all Nigerians to continue to support the Federal Government’s ongoing fight against corruption to make Nigeria great.

“The task of making Nigeria great again is a patriotic duty of all and sundry.

“Similarly, the task of sustaining unity of this country is a collective responsibility of all.

“Let’s join hands together to support the President in salvaging the country from the hands of pathological looters,’’ he said. (NAN)
