FCE Governing Council pledges to address college challenges for academic excellence

Pankshin (Plateau) July 12, 2017 (NAN) The newly-constituted Governing Council of the Federal College of Education (FCE), Pankshin, Plateau, on Wednesday pledged to address all challenges of the college for academic excellence.
The council Chairman, Dr Ibrahim Garba, made the pledge at the maiden meeting of the Council with staff of the institution at the College Auditorium in Pankshin.
A statement signed by the college Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Istifanus Kyakmut, made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Pankshin, described the constitution of the council as a “big relief”, moreso that the college was without one for over two years.
“We hope to explore the qualities of all relevant agencies and establishments of the college to attract infrastructure and human capital development to achieve desired objectives.
“Our cardinal objective and desire is to ensure that academic activities strive to higher heights to place the college among, if not the best, institutions in the country, ’’ the statement quoted Garba saying.
Garba, who noted that the country was undergoing economic challenges, expressed the council’s determination to mobilise the college’s lean resources and put them to best use for best results.
He appealed to the staff and students for their support and cooperation for stability and peace of the college and provision of the enabling environment for smooth learning and steady development.
The chairman, however, expressed appreciation of the council members to the Federal Government for the confidence reposed in them and pledged to justify the trust in no distant time.
Earlier, Dr Amos Cirfat, Provost of the College, welcomed members of the Council and described the workforce of the college as “very determined and hardworking’’.
Cirfat assured them of the support and loyalty of both staff and students as true partners in progress for the collective interest of the school. (NAN)
