Yenagoa, Feb. 14, 2017 (NAN) Gov. Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa on Tuesday said his government was committed to infrastructure development, describing it as “significant” for effecting change for the people.

The governor said this during activities to commemorate the governor’s first year in his second term in office.

Dickson also commended the security agencies in the state, who “have been up and doing” to curtail crimes across the eight local government areas of the state.

“Since my assumption of office as the governor, we have built several roads and bridges across communities and we are ready to do more.

“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is poised for good governance and this is our party, which all of us must continue to support for the betterment of the people.

“I need the support of all stakeholders, the youth and the women groups; though, the country is in recession, we will continue to do what we can to develop our state,” Dickson said.

Mr Cleopas Moses, the Chairman of PDP in Bayelsa, commended the governor for the quality of work done so far.

Some residents, who attended the celebration, also commended the governor for his efforts to develop Bayelsa.

Miss Preye Ayibatonye, a resident, applauded the governor for the construction of roads in the three senatorial districts of the state.
