Dickson, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr Talford Ongolo, made this commendation on the 2016 Fourth Quarter Regimental Dinner Night for NAF officers on Friday night in Yenagoa.

The governor described the role of the Nigerian Air Force as “critical” to nation building, adding that the Bayelsa Government would continue to partner with the organisation.
According to him, the partnership and support become necessary to ensure a peaceful environment for the citizenry.
“I recall the role of NAF during the 2012 flood disaster, which affected many parts of the country, including Bayelsa; we, once again appreciate your good service to humanity.

Retired Air Vice-Marshal Dick Erunebere, who was a guest of honour, said he was obliged to witness the occasion, which was aimed at promoting comradeship among officers.
Erunebere said the promotion of comradeship among officers was in view of the prevailing security challenges not only in Bayelsa but the country at large.
“This dinner night is to promote social interaction and togetherness among the NAF officers; an opportunity for eminent Nigerians to appreciate the efforts of the force in combating insurgency’’.
