Gov. Bindow urges leaders to involve traditional rulers in governance

Yola, Aug. 3, 2017 (NAN) Gov. Mohammed Bindow of Adamawa, on Thursday advised leaders at all levels to involve the traditional institutions in providing good governance.

Bindow gave the advice in Yola when the people from Adamawa North Senatorial District paid him a solidarity visit.

He said that traditional institutions have `formidable structure’ that could be utilised to provide good governance for the people.

He added that traditional institutions also have structure that could be utilized for information and intelligence gathering to enhance security.

The governor commended the Lamido of Adamawa, Dr Mustapha Barkindo, for his fatherly advice which he noted, had translated into the giant strides he had recorded in the development of the state.

Bindow, who thanked the people for the visit, assured that he would not fail them.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Sen. Iya Abubakar, commended the governor for the progress made by his administration in two years.

Abubakar, former Vice Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, promised the governor that the people of the senatorial district would support his administration to succeed. (NAN)
