Widows

Keffi(Nassarawa state) Feb,22,2017 (NAN) Nassarawa State Governor ‘s wife, Mrs Salamatu Al-Makura on Wednesday distributed food items, clothing materials and cash to some widows in Keffi to alleviate their hardship.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that each widow received a bag of 10Kg semovita, clothing material and N10,000.
Speaking at the occasion, Almakura said that as a mother, she was aware of their challenges, adding that widows were dear to her heart.
She added that it was not easy to provide the needs of the family without a husband, especially in the midst of economic recession.
“Women are strong-willed and peace makers; woman should continue with their peaceful and prayerful attributes,” she said
She admonished them not to relent in their efforts at ensuring that their children imbibed the best moral culture and should always pray for them.
“As leaders of tomorrow I plead with all to accord the children ample time, preaching peace and encouraging peaceful co-existence,” she said.
She advised them to engage in petty business activities to sustain themselves. (NAN)
