Donation

Omu-Aran (Kwara), Feb. 13, 2018 (NAN) No fewer than 20,000 exercise books were distributed to Senior Secondary School students in Omu-Aran, Kwara, by the Otunolabayo Awoniyi Foundation.
The donation, which cuts across eight schools in the community, was geared toward complementing the parents’ efforts and improving their performance.
The presentation of the books was witnessed by serving councillors representing the three wards of the community.
They include Gbenga Adekeye (Ifaja Ward 3), Risikat Oyinloye (Aran Ward 1) and Fawaz Ogundeji (Ihahe Ward 2).
Chief Bayo Awoniyi, the foundation’s financier, while presenting the books described education as the best legacy which should be nurtured and promoted by all.
Awoniyi, a Lagos based businessman and philanthropist, represented by Adekeye, urged the students to reciprocate the gesture through academic excellence.
He said the foundation’s vision was hinged on promoting healthcare, financial stability and improved access to education and human capital development.
Mr Bidemi Olawuyi, the Principal of Omu-Aran High School, while receiving the books, said the foundation’s gesture was unprecedented and timely.
He commended the foundation on its effort to uplift the living standard of the people.
Other schools that benefitted from the gesture are Ofe-Aran Commercial College, Aperan Comprehensive High School, Ogbo Grammar School and Ansarul Islam Secondary School.
The rest are Government Secondary School, Omu-Aran, Government Christian College as well as ECWA Secondary School, Omu-Aran. (NAN)
