Minna, Jan. 9, 2017 ( NAN) Mr Taidi Jonathan, former Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Niger, on Monday described late Gov. Abdulkadir Kure, as a “role model politician’’ who concerned himself with the yearnings and aspirations of the people.

Jonathan told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna that Kure’s exemplary leadership led the former governor to transform the state through the execution of physical projects.

The former NBA chairman said such projects helped improve the living standard of the people of the state.

“He was honest, sincere and complete gentleman and ever willing to help his country, state and community when he held various public offices,” he said.

He identified some of his successes while in office to include the establishment of the Ibrahim Babangida University in Lapai; the construction of the Minna Central Market and the reconstruction of various secondary schools in the state, among others.

Jonathan explained that the people of the state would miss him and that his memory would linger in the mind of the people of the state.

He called on Federal Capital Territory Administration and the Niger government to honour the late governor for his tremendous contributions to the socio-economic and political development of Niger and the country in general. (NAN)
