Ile-Ife (Osun), Aug. 16, 2017 (NAN) The Federal Government has pledged to complete the abandoned dam at Kajola /Owena area of Osun, saying it remains a priority project.
The Minister of Water Resources, Sulaiman Adamu, said this on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
“ When I came on board, we inherited 165 abandoned projects spread throughout the federation.
“ On assumption of office, I set up a technical committee to prioritise them and the dam is one of the top priority projects.
” This is the reason why I am here; to inspect the project so I will know how to defend it before the Federal Executive Council,’’ he said.
Adamu pledged that the Federal Government would ensure the completion of the project so as to boost the economy of the area.
Responding, Ogunwusi commended the minister for prioritising the project and visiting the area to assess the extent of work done. (NAN)
