Minna, Feb. 8, 2017 (NAN) The Federal Government has awarded contract for the renovation of the Federal Secretariat Minna, Mr Felix Appah, the Federal Controller of Housing in Niger, said on Wednesday.
The News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) had a fortnight ago reported that the secretariat, which accommodates 32 federal establishments, is in a state of disrepair, with rodents almost taking over the facility.
Appah told NAN in Minna that already, the contractor had commenced work .
He said that the entire structure would be renovated to provide conducive atmosphere for workers to discharge their responsibilities.
Appah said a new borehole would be drilled as part of the contract to address the problem of water at the facility.
According to him, relevant scheduled officers have been deployed to monitor the rehabilitation project to ensure compliance to set standard.
“ We will carefully monitor the project to ensure quality job is done,” he said.
Appah commended the federal government for the project, saying that it would boost the morale of staff.( NAN)
