Enugu, Jan. 25, 2017 (NAN) Enugu State Government says it has approved fund for the purchase of 800KVA generating set for the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital (ESUTH).
Dr Samuel Ngwu, the state Commissioner for Health, on Wednesday in Enugu told newsmen that it would ensure smooth operations of facilities at the hospital.
Ngwu said that the 500KVA generating set, currently in use at the hospital, would serve as a back up to ensure adequate power supply.
“Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has demonstrated his passion for the health sector with the approval and the re-launch of the free maternal and child healthcare programme.
“This is to meet up with the health challenges among the poor and vulnerable in the society,’’ he said.
The commissioner said that the training of health workers would be carried out to ensure quality healthcare services in all the 17 local government area of the state.
“This is to ensure everyone in Enugu State has access to quality health facilities and thereby reduce health challenges among the poor and vulnerable in the society,’’ Ngwu said. (NAN)
