Emir of Borgu urges IBB University Lapai to introduce Medicine, Law courses

New Bussa (Niger), June 7, 2017( NAN) The Emir of Borgu, Alhaji Mohammed Dantoro, has called on the management of Ibrahim Babangida University, Lapai, to introduce medicine and law courses in its academic programmes.

The Emir made the call when the management of the University led by its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Maiturare, paid courtesy visit to the palace of the Emir on Wednesday in Borgu.

He said that introducing such professional courses, especially medicine will make available the required manpower that will complement the effort of the state government in providing qualitative health care delivery in the state.

He explained that the well trained medical personnel will go a long way in addressing the health challenges of the people.

He observed that medicine and law courses will also add value to the institution curriculum.

The emir also called on the management of Institution to always considered Borgu emirate indigenes for admission and employment opportunities.

Speaking earlier, Prof. Mohammed Maiturare, Vice Chancellor of the University, lauded the support of the emirate to the school of Preliminary Studies in New Bussa.

He said that effort were being made by the management to ensure all necessary infrastructures were put in place at the permanent site of the school .

He attributed the success recorded by the school so far to the support of the emirate council.( NAN)
