Electrician docked for alleged house breaking, theft

Abuja, July 5, 2017 (NAN) The police on Tuesday arraigned one Jaye John, an electrician, in a Wuse Zone 2 Senior Magistrates’ Court for allegedly breaking into a client’s house.
John, who resides at Anguwan Sharo, Abuja, is facing a three-count charge of house breaking, trespass and theft.
The prosecutor, Adeniyi Oyeyemi, told the court that one Akilu Adams of Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, reported the matter at Wuse Police Station on June 24.
“The complainant reported that he engaged the defendant to carry out some repairs in his house on June 23, butthe defendant returned to the house on June 24 and broke in through the door.
“The defendant stole N30, 000 cash, and a laptop valued at N50, 000,’’ he said.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 342, 346 and 288 of the Penal code.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mr Mohammed Tahir, admitted the defendant to N100, 000 bail with a surety in like sum and adjourned the case until Aug. 8 for hearing. (NAN)
