Ado Ekiti, Sept.5, 2017, (NAN) The Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) on Tuesday says it will soon upgrade the local government administration in the state to conform to international best practices.
The Chairman of the commission, Mr. Sola Omotoso, said this at Ilawe Ekiti, the headquarters of Ekiti South West Local Government Area of the state.
Omotoso spoke at the opening of a three-day training for selected middle and senior level officers in the Finance and Supply Departments of local governments in the state.
He reiterated the commitment of the Gov. Fayose-led administration toward boosting efficiency in the public service for effective service delivery in the state.
Omotoso said that the state government’s introduction of the International Public Sector Accounting System (IPSAS) and the training of officials on how best to utilise it would enhance productivity, quality of work as well as maximize performance.
He charged the workers to reciprocate government’s efforts by improving their lots and developing the state by living up to their responsibilities.
Omotoso also stressed the need for participants to take its advantage to advance their knowledge and professional capabilities toward enhancing an effective discharge of their duties.
He also advised the beneficiaries to retrain their colleagues that were yet to benefit from such training in order for the commission to accelerate the process of attaining the desired objective. (NAN)
