Abuja, Sept. 18, 2017 (NAN) Sen. Ita Enang, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), has commended the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) for maintaining high standard in journalism practice.

Enang who gave the commendation when he featured on NAN’s Forum in Abuja, said the agency had remained consistent in disseminating undiluted news.

He said that the news agency was outstanding in keeping to objectivity in its reportage in the face of increasing sensationalism in the media.

The presidential aide said: “NAN is a good agency which gathers and sends out undiluted news as it ought to be, in the interest of the public.

“NAN sends out information without sensation while concentrating on news that does not divert attention from governance. It disseminates only information that is worth knowing while minding national security.’’

He urged the staff and management of the organisation to continue with the good work, adding that it was common knowledge that the agency had been tested and trusted. (NAN)
