Discipline

Benin, March 23, 2018 (NAN) The Edo State Government on Friday organised a one-day seminar where Bendel Insurance Football Club players were advised on the need to adhere to instructions of the new technical team.
Philip Shaibu, the chairman of the state committee on sports and state deputy governor, while speaking at the seminar, said the players needed to be disciplined to excel in their task.
“That is the only way to secure promotion. The players must ensure they exhibit discipline and be obedient to technical instructions in the field of play,” he said at the seminar organised ahead of the 2017/2018 Nigeria National League (NNL) season which begins on March 31.
Shaibu urged the players not to be distracted while on the pitch, but rather remain focused and adhere to their coach’s instructions.
“The club’s new technical team consists of ex-internationals who are bringing their wealth of experience on board.
” I urge you to play as a team as the goal is to ensure the team gains promotion to the top flight of football in the country,” he said.
The deputy governor however assured them of necessary government support as well as efforts to reposition the club to attract private investors for more funding.
The workshop had presentations from Confederation of African Football (CAF) instructor Faith Iriabor who tutored the players on rules and technical pattern of play. (NAN)
