Ebonyi Govt partner stakeholders eliminate malaria

Abakaliki, April 25, 2017 (NAN) The Ebonyi Government has advised residents in the state to always sleep under insecticide treated mosquito nets to prevent malaria.
The government is making the advocacy through the pet project of Mrs Richeal Umahi, Wife of the state governor.
Umahi spoke on Tuesday during a road work with key stakeholders on health to mark this year’s World Malaria Day themed “End malaria for good’’.
Represented by Mrs Nora Alo, the Chairman, Ezza North Local Government Council, she also said that the campaign is targeted at pregnant women and mothers with children under 0-5 years old.
“Pregnant women and mothers with children under 0-5 years old.
“The campaign is also targeted to create awareness on how to use the insecticide mosquito net and to always sleep on it to eliminate malaria,” Umahi noted.
Meanwhile, the stakeholders on health, who embarked on the road work, advocated strong collaboration to reduce the violence of disease in the country.
NAN also reports that the stakeholders are NGOs operating in the state, including Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team (AMURT), and Grassroot Foundation for Empowerment and Development.
The state government through the office of the Governor’s wife is collaborating with the key stakeholders on health to sensitise residents on how to use insecticide treated mosquito nets and to run test before taking malaria drugs. (NAN)
