Dust hazy, partly cloudy atmosphere to prevail on Saturday – NiMet

Abuja, Jan. 27, 2017 (NAN) The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted dust haze weather conditions with horizontal visibilities of two to five kilometres over the central states of the country on Saturday.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office on Friday in Abuja added that localised visibility less than or equal to 1000m are not unlikely over few places.

It added that the region would have day and night temperatures of 30 to 37 degrees Celsius and 12 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.

The agency predicted the southern states would experience partly cloudy morning over the inland and coastal cities with day and night temperatures of 33 to 36 and 21 to 25 degrees Celsius.

It also predicted isolated rains over the inland cities like Oshogbo, Akure, Ondo, Ado-Ekiti, Benin, Warri, Owerri, Uyo, Calabar, Eket, Port Harcourt, and yenagoa axis during the afternoon and evening hours.

According to NiMet, northern states will experience moderate dust haze with visibility of two to five kilometres and visibilities that are less than or equal to 1000m over a few places.

“The region will have day and night temperatures of 32 to 36 degrees Celsius and 14 to 20 degrees Celsius respectively.

“ The Northern part of the country should still expect Dust haze conditions while a few places in the south will experience isolated rains in the next 24 hours,’’ NiMet predicted. (NAN)
