Abuja, Oct. 18, 2017 (NAN) The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted dust haze weather conditions is anticipated over the northern parts of the Central States of the country on Thursday morning and afternoon.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Wednesday also predicted day and night temperatures of 27 to 35 and 15 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
It added that there would be chances of localised thunderstorms over Abuja, Makurdi, Minna, Lokoja, Yola and Ilorin in the afternoon and evening hours.
The agency predicted that the southern states would experience cloudy morning over the southwest with prospects of localised thunderstorms over Abakaliki and Ikom axis.
It also predicted good prospects of localised thunderstorms over the region in the afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures of 30 to 33 and 21 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience hazy conditions throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the ranges of 31 to 38 and 16 to 21 degrees Celsius respectively.
“The extreme north and parts of the central states are expected to be under dust haze conditions.
“Some central cities along with the southern parts of the country have prospects of localized thunderstorms in the next 24 hours,’’ NiMet predicted. (NAN)
