Abuja, Jan. 28, 2017 (NAN) The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted dust haze conditions over the central states of the country with visibility of between one and three kilometres over Abuja, Minna, Kaduna and Bida on Sunday.
NiMet made the prediction in the Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Saturday.
It stated that the region would have day and night temperature of 30 to 37 degrees Celsius and 18 to 23 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The agency also predicted that the southern states would experience partly cloudy conditions over the entire inland and some parts of the south west coastal cities.
It also predicted localised rain showers over Yenogoa , Port-Harcourt , Asaba, Eket and Calabar during afternoon and evening with day and night temperatures of 34 to 36 and 21 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, the northern states will experience dust haze conditions with visibilities of between two to five kilometre and less than or equal to 1,000 metres over Nguru, Dutse and Potiskum.
“The region will also experience day and night temperature of 33 to 38 degrees Celsius and 12 to 22 degrees Celsius respectively.
“Dust haze conditions are expected over the north and central cities with visibility range of two and five kilometres , though some places may witness localised visibility values of less than or equal to 1,000metres,’’ NiMet further predicted.(NAN)
