FG committed to help prospective investors to invest in FCT

Abuja, May 10, 2018 (NAN) President Muhammadu Buhari has said that his administration was committed to prospective investors to invest in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Buhari gave the assurance at the inauguration of Fraser Suites – a Five-Star Hotel on Thursday in Abuja, represented by the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Malam Muhammad Bello,.

The president said the administration in keeping faith with its pledge to prospective investors, had extended infrastructure and sewer lines to the hotel areas as soon as they expressed interest to commence development.

Citing UN Habitat figures, Buhari said FCT, growing at nine per cent yearly, was among the fastest growing cities in the world and truly an investor’s heaven,

The president lauded the Royal Pacific Group, the owners of the hotel for having faith in Abuja.

He also paid growing tributes to the Nasreddin family, also owners of NASCO Foods Jos, for the nearly six decades of their investing in Nigeria.

“This is a very important project for Nigeria especially because we are happy to be the first country and indeed the first city in Africa to host the prestigious Fraser Suites.

“This is one of the FCT support for the landmark hospitality outfit, located in Abuja strategic business district,’’ he said.

Buhari underscored the Hotel’s unique position and expressed optimism that the Abuja light rail would be of great service to prospective clients of the hotel.

The president noted with delight that the hotel had created jobs and would boost tourism as well as tax revenue to the FCT Administration.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Chairman, Royal Pacific Group, Dr Attia Nasreddin, said that the mission of the group was to deliver world class services to its clients.

He said that the group was dedicated to the growth and development of the Africa with a view to contributing to the transformation of lives and the host communities.

According to him, the new business concern would also boost the emerging markets for generations to come.

“Nigeria is a nation of nearly 200 million people and a country of endless possibilities as far as hospitality business is concerned,’’ Nasreddin said.

He said Fraser Suites, established in Singapore in 1998, had more than 150 properties spread more than 40 countries with the Abuja facility being first in Africa.

Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer, Middle East and Africa, Fraser Suites, Mr Guus Bakker, commended Nigerians for their dynamism and described them as very special breed of people, hospitable and resilient.(NAN)
