Abuja, July 10, 2017(NAN) Police on Monday arraigned a 29-year-old Nsikan Samuel at a Gudu Upper Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly threatening to kill one Chinedu Obiora.
Samuel, a driver, of Kabusa, is facing two-count charge of criminal trespass and intimidation.
The prosecutor, Mr Donatus Abah, told the court that the case was transferred from Kabusa out-post to Apo Divisional Police Headquarters on June 23.
He alleged that the complainant, one Mr Augustine Ohamara, of Gbuduji area in Kabusa, reported the matter at Kabusa Police Station on June 14.
Abah said the complainant alleged that on June 12, the defendant came to his shop and requested audience with him.
“When he was given the audience, he asked him to warn his mother and that he was not afraid of anybody,’’ he said.
Abah also said that in the process, the defendant brought out a pistol and showed it to the complainant.
The prosecutor informed the court that the complainant alleged that the defendant, again, on June 13, threatened to kill his younger brother, one Chinedu Obiora, who was about to leave for work.
Abah alleged that the defendant, during interrogation, admitted threatening the complainant with a jack knife not a pistol.
He said that the defendant could not give any satisfactory reason for his actions.
He said the offence contravened Sections 97 and 397 of the Penal Code.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The judge, Mr Umar Kagarko, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000, with a surety in like sum and adjourned the case until Sept. 28.(NAN)
