Rape

Lagos, Aug. 9, 2017 (NAN) A driver, Alaba Shodamola,31, who allegedly raped a 20-year-old girl, was on Wednesday arraigned in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
Shodamola, who resides at No 24, Mosan Road, Ipaja, a Lagos suburb, is facing a charge of rape.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Ishola Samuel, said that the accused committed the offence on June 7 at his residence.
Samuel said the accused told the girl that he saw a vision in which she died, urging her to accompany him home in order to avert an untimely death.
“Shodamola lured the girl to his house where he started caressing her body and raped her after tearing her under wear,’’ he said.
He said the girl reported the matter to her parents and the accused was apprehended.
The offence, he added, contravened Section 261 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Miss A.R Onilogbo, granted N250,000 bail to the accused with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case till Aug. 17. (NAN)
