The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ojebode, a professor of communication, hails from Igboora, the headquarters of Ibarapa Central Local Government of Oyo State.
The don, who said teachers could make or mar the future of students, noted that his achievements today was a result of the positive impact he enjoyed during his formative years.
Ojebode also appealed to parents to monitor their children’s education by cross checking their notebooks and assignments.
“There are no short cuts to success. Hard work is the key. My appointment as a professor and the honour accorded me by my kinsmen is an honour for all,’’ he said.
The don, while expressing appreciation to the organisers of the programme, called on all indigenes of Igboora to remain united in order to uplift the town.

“The duo include Mr Segun Oladeji popularly known as OBJ at Igboora Grammar School and Mr Oyegunle Oyekanmi of Lasogba High School while I was their student.
“When I was in Lasogba High School, Mr Oyekanmi would borrow me different literature books, carefully go through my essays to fish out errors and recommend necessary corrections.
“This among others was the reason why I had to look for my teachers in order to express my appreciation,’’ he said.
