Abuja, May 5, 2017 (NAN) Mrs Florence Anyanwu, a retired Director of Audit, Office of the Auditor-General of the Federation, has urged audit staff to publish quality reports that will add value to governance.
Anyanwu made the call in a statement signed by Mrs Olawunmi Ogunmosunle, the Deputy Director, Head, Media and Public Relations of the office during a valedictory service organised for her by the management on Thursday in Abuja.
Anyanwu also urged the staff to promote accountability and transparency in the conduct of government business.
She prayed the staff to eschew actions capable of bringing the office to public ridicule while imploring them to always engage one another constructively with open minds.
She said,“ I am overwhelmed by the show of love, affection, respect and words of well wishes and it has been a fantastic honour and opportunity working with you.’’
Anyanwu retired on May 4 after 33 years of active service to the Federal Government.
She was employed as Auditor 1 in 1984 at the office of the Auditor-General where she rose to the post of Director, Audit in 2011 and was Acting Auditor General from June 5, 2016 to Dec.5, 2016.
At the Valedictory service, management of the organisation showered Anyanwu with encomiums and extolled her passion and dedication toward the advancement of the audit institution.
The new Director-General, Mr Anthony Ayine assumed office on Jan. 25. (NAN)
