DFID partners Jigawa Govt. on good governance

Dutse, Aug. 11, 2017 (NAN) The UK Department for International Development (DFID) has reiterated its support to the Jigawa Government in promoting good governance in the state.

DFID new Head of Governance Team in the country, Enakem Bassey, stated this when the team visited the Secretary to Jigawa Government, Alhaji Adamu Abdukadir, in Dutse.

A statement by the secretary’s spokesperson, Alhaji Isma’il Ibrahim, on Friday said that Bassey reiterated the DFID readiness to maintain its relations with Jigawa government.

The statement quoted the outgoing Head of the DFID Governance Team, Mr Oliver Blaike as saying that the DFID would continue its partnership with Jigawa government.

Blaike said the organisation was already in partnership with the state in the areas of Education, Health, Agriculture and other critical sectors towards enhancing good governance.

It disclosed that Abdulkadir thanked Blaike and the new head, Bassey for their continued interest in the enthronement of good governance in the state.

The secretary also requested DFID support in the state’s Systematic Land Title and Registration, which is being supported by the Growth and Employment in State (GEMS-3)

The statement added the new DFID officials also paid similar visit to the State Head of Service, Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa.

Inuwa assured that the Jigawa government would continue to collaborate with the DFID to enthroning the culture of good governance and transparency in the state. (NAN)
