Kano May 29 2018 (NAN) Farmers in Kano on Tuesday commended Governor Abdullahi Ganduje administration for the transformation recorded in agriculture in the past three years.
A cross section of farmers made the commendation while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the sideline of a town hall meeting in Kano on Tuesday, organised to mark three years of the administration.
Malam Yahuza Baba, a farmer from Kura local government area, said that the distribution of fertiliser to farmers had improved since the coming of the administration.
Another farmer from Dambatta local government area, Malam Tijjani Usman, said he was fascinated with the programme of artificial insemination to boost cattle production in the state.
He said that the establishment of insemination centres in Dambatta and sponsorship of 60 Fulani youth to Turkey for training in artificial insemination, would help revolutionise cattle breeding in the state.
A rice farmer from Imawa in Kura local government, Malam Rislanu Abdullahi, told NAN that he was a beneficiary of the soft loans given by the government, adding that it had helped him tremendously in improving his annual production output. (NAN)
