Daura (Katsina), April 12, 2017 (NAN) The Daura Zonal Pilgrims Welfare Office in Katsina State has received allocation of 544 Hajj seats from the state pilgrims welfare board for the 2017 Hajj exercise.
Alhaji Lawal Nababa, Zonal Desk Officer in charge of Hajj operation, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Daura on Wednesday.
NAN reports that the Daura zonal office of the pilgrims’ board comprised Daura, Sandamu, Zango, Baure and Mai’adua Local Government Areas.
The zonal desk officer said that the zone had already exhausted 300 seats out of the allotted seats, pointing that there are 244 seats yet to be sold.
He, therefore, called on intending pilgrims to remit to the zonal office a deposit of N1 million in bank draft, pending announcement of the final balance for all categories of seats by the state pilgrims’ welfare board.
He said the seats were in three categories of ‘‘minimum, median and maximum,’’ adding that we hope to get additional seats when we exhaust the ones at hand.
Nababa commended the State Government for the proper handling of Hajj exercise.
He called for synergy between the officials of the board and the 34 local government desk officers for a successful hajj exercise.
NAN recalls that no fewer than 300 pilgrims performed the 2016 Hajj exercise from the zone. (NAN)
