Lagos, May 23, 2017 (NAN) Dana Air has restated its commitment to youth development and entrepreneurship in Nigeria, with its partnership with Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs (AYE) Reality TV Show.
The Communications Manager of Dana Air, Mr Kingsley Ezenwa, made this known while signing the partnership agreement with the AYE in Lagos on Tuesday.
He said: “We are partnering with the AYE to identify budding entrepreneurs with exceptional ideas and help showcase their potential to the world.
“As a responsible corporate organisation, we are committed to helping young entrepreneurs actualise their aspirations and we believe there is no better way to reduce crime rate, and unemployment than supporting initiatives like this.’’
Ezenwa noted that the airline had been in the forefront of youth development in Nigeria and recently introduced special fares for members of the National Youth Service Corps and students.
He said this was part of the airlines’ way of supporting the efforts of the government and their parents.
Also speaking, the Regional Manager of Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs, Mrs Joy Michael, said the organisation currently had 12 million members.
Michael said: “It is where the world connects with Africa’s young and fast growing number of entrepreneurs.
“AYE has successfully expanded to 20 African countries, including the United States and England, with the world’s most successful businessmen and women as the trustees, honourary members and executives of the organisation.’’
She stated that the group had in the last four years identified, showcased and equipped budding and emerging entrepreneurs with relevant resources to either commence or scale up their businesses.
Michael said the AYE was happy that one of Nigeria’s most creative and youth-conscious airline, Dana Air, was partnering with them and urged other well-meaning brands to come on board.
“The reality show is to influence start-ups, micro, small and medium enterprise to see the possibility of venturing into new business opportunities and scaling their existing businesses,’’ she added. (NAN)
