Minna, July 16, 2018 (NAN) Alhaji Abdullahi Maje, the Chairman, Suleja Local Government Area of Niger, has  deployed councillors to their various wards to mobilise eligible residents to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna on Monday, Maje said that it was imperative for eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) in order to exercise their civic duty.

He noted that the people would only be eligible to participate in the elections if they registered and obtained their PVCs.

The council boss said that the councillors had been directed to work with traditional rulers and non-governmental organisations in mobilising residents to collect their PVCs.

He expressed confidence that the involvement of stakeholders would ensure massive mobilisation of eligible voters to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise.

“We will continue to work with our traditional institutions in mobilising our rural dwellers to obtain their PVCs and national identity cards,” he said. (NAN)
