Yenagoa, Jan. 18, 2018 (NAN) The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday said it had created 10 additional registration centres to fast track the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in Bayelsa.

Mr Clement Oha,  the commission’s Administrative Secretary in Bayelsa,  disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yenogoa.

He said  with the new centres, the state now has a total of 29 centres.

Oha urged residents to take advantage of the development by registering themselves “in order to have voting rights in the forthcoming election.’’

“With the development, I am calling on all eligible persons in Bayelsa;  those who have been registered before the 2015 elections  to go to any of the centres and collect their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC)  because it is the weapon to use in choosing future leaders.

“Those who have not registered  should go and register, the new and the old centres have been spread across the state including those living at the riverside  areas.

“We have centres in Yenagoa, we have in Akasa and Twon in Brass Local Government Area (LGA);  we have in Alaebiri, Ekeremor, we have centres in Nembe, we have in areas like Ogbolomabiri, Bassambiri among others.

“The centres are spread across the state and our officers are fully deployed to ensure that the exercise is smooth and successful,’’ he said.(NAN)
