Lagos, June 4, 2017 (NAN) Mrs Edith Ekunke, Curator, National Commission for Museums and Monuments (NCMM), has called on private investors in the country to establish museum.
Ekunke told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Lagos that the establishment of museum would enable Nigerians especially the youths benefit from the knowledge it offers.
She said that the commission encourages individuals with original antiquities and artefacts to establish their personal museum to discourage them from selling them to foreigners.
She added that some Nigerians had been licensed by the commission to establish their own museum.
According to the curator, the establishment of museum in different parts of the country will help to generate employment and boost the nation’s gross domestic product. (NAN)
