Achievers
By Mercy Osajiugo
Minna, June 3, 2017 (NAN) Mr Ibrahim Salihu, a culture expert, has solicited the opening of a hall of fame at the Niger State Council for Arts and Culture museum, to celebrate achievers.
Salihu, a Deputy Director at the Council, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Minna that the hall would serve as the platform where honour would be given to whom it was due.
“Many personalities have contributed to the growth of Niger. Many have distinguished themselves in their callings. It is necessary for us to celebrate these achievers so that up coming generation will know them and equally celebrate them,” he said.
The official said that dedicating a hall to honour outstanding individuals would encourage more people to seek to follow their paths.
“If we are able to do this in Niger, our youths will seek to emulate such personalities and our state will be the better for it,” he said.
He further explained that commemorating the names of outstanding persons would breed unity, love and hard work across ethnic, political and religious divides. (NAN)
