Nanza gave the advice on Thursday in Keffi while fielding questions from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the outbreak of meningitis in parts of the country.
He also called on Nigerians to adhere strictly to the federal government advice on the prevention methods of meningitis by sleeping and living in well ventilated environment, and keeping personal and environmental hygiene at all the time.
“As a politician and stakeholder, my role is to preach peace and to also to advise the people on the need to continue to support government policies and programmes as well as to pray for leaders.
“For example, we heard through radio and read newspapers on how the outbreak of Cerebro Spinal Meningitis (CSM) had claimed lives in some states of the federation and we were advised to live in ventilated and hygienic environment.
“It is in view of this that I am also calling on the people of Nasarawa State and Nigerians at large to adhere strictly to federal government advices on meningitis by sleeping or living in proper ventilated rooms and always avoid hot environment in the interest of our health.

Nanza also urged Nigerians to improve on their environmental sanitation and personal hygiene as one of the ways of preventing the spread of diseases in the country.
