Obudu (Cross River), March 9, 2017 (NAN) The Cross River Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has called on the contractor handling the construction of the Canadian International Model School, kakum, Obudu Local Government Area to deliver quality job.
Dr Stephen Odey, the Executive Chairman of the board, made the call on Thursday in Obudu, when he paid unscheduled visit to the site.
He said that the call became necessary, warning that the board would not compromise quality job for any reason.
The executive chairman stressed that the state government was concerned about the quality job from the contractor.
“I am, however, satisfied with the level of work done so far. This project is key to us in SUBEB and even at the level of Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).
“However, I charge you to put more effort to speed up the clearing process and ensure that the quality of work done is of high standard.
“The Executive Secretary of UBEC has indicated interest in this project so much so that, that he will be here for the ground-breaking ceremony.
“I have visited the site to see things and to report back to the Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade,’’ he said.
Odey also urged the members of the community, where the project is sited to support the developmental strides of the state government.
He said that the state government was drawing goodwill from development partners to reposition the education sector.
Mr Kanayo Okoye, the Managing Director, Jukok International Ltd, the contractor handling the project, assured the SUBEB of his company’s commitment to delivering quality Job.
“Quality is our watch word; we will not compromise on our standard. We will give you what will stand the test of time,” he promised. (NAN)
