C’River govt assures communities of readiness to provide roads

Odukpani (Cross River), April 25, 2017 (NAN) Mr Dane Osim-Asu, Commissioner for Works in Cross River says the State Government is committed to opening up rural communities to boost their economic activities.
Asu said this on Tuesday in Usung Esuk, Odukpani Local Government Area while inspecting a one and half kilometer road project being constructed by the State Ministry of works.
According to him, opening up the rural communities would enhance the daily lives of the people at the grassroots and bring meaningful development to the people.
He said: “we are determined and committed to opening up the rural areas through roads construction because this will enhance economic activities at the grassroots.’’
The commissioner added that the road was a low hanging project, awarded to Paving Material and Construction Company Ltd at the cost of N139 million only.
He charged the contractor handling the project to work hard and not to compromise standard.
Mr Mike Odosen, Manager, Paving Material and Construction Company, asured that the company would do a good job, adding that, within a short time, it had completed dredging job to an extent.
Spokesperson for the community, Mr Ita Asuquo, thanked the state government for the project and assured they would continue to support the present administration.(NAN)
